Hadjichristodoulou Christos

Christos Hadjichristodoulou is a Professor of Hygiene and Epidemiology at the University of Thessaly. He is the Director of the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology and the Head of the Peripheral Public Health Laboratory of North Greece. Moreover is the scientific coordinator of the 2 year post graduate training program in applied public health and environmental hygiene. He is scientific advisor on surveillance of the Hellenic Center for Disease Control and Prevention. He also held the post of the Director of the National Center for Surveillance and Intervention (December 1997 until February 2000). He was the coordinator of several National and European projects: the EU SHIPSAN ACT Joint Action (funded through the Health Programme 2008-2013 by DG SANCO), the “Integrated surveillance and control programme for West Nile virus and malaria in Greece” (funded by NSRF 2007-2013 through Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity),  the SHIPSAN TRAINET project (2008-2011) and the SHIPSAN project (2006-2008). He was the scientific coordinator of the project “Environmental Health Surveillance for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games”. Prof. Christos Hadjichristodoulou has 180 publications in peer review journals and he is the main author in 9 books in the area of public health.
