Birgitta de Jong, MPH, PhD
Birgitta is an epidemiologist with long experience of surveillance and outbreak investigations of food and waterborne diseases, including Legionnaires’ disease at the national level in Sweden, and at the international level. She is currently a senior expert in the Epidemic Intelligence and Response section at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, where she is Coordinator of the European Legionnaires’ Disease Surveillance Network (ELDSNet). She is also the leader of the EU Preparedness group in ECDC.
